Leaving Seattle

Stepping outside the Seattle airport, I waited for Jonah to show up in his 1969 Datsun. Hoping its rusted, yellow body would swing around the bend any second, I must have glanced up a hundred times before remembering how old the car was. I'd almost had to force Jonah to buy it for $500. It was probably broken down on the side of the road somewhere between the airport and Seattle, likely closer to Seattle.
...And it was. But thanks to another old friend, we finally made it to town late that night. The next morning we jumped right into brainstorming how to best spend the month of February. A few days worth of coffee shop brainstorming/me-coming-dangerously-close-to-buying-a-ticket-to-Cairo later, we found ourselves setting off from Olympia in a rental car packed with my drums and just about everything else we own. We hoped to get our recordings done in a place where both of us happen to know quite a few people: Utah.
It was a beautiful drive.
